RoboCAM

RoboCAM is a ceiling mounted robotic camera positioning system designed to capture images of dental and medical procedures as they take place.

A combination of 3-axis rotary and 1-axis of linear movement allows a high-end digital camera to be infinitely adjustable to obtain the ideal view of the subject and maintain an unobstructed view throughout a procedure as an instructor/surgeon changes positions.

Mounted to the ceiling overhead of a dental chair or operating room table, RoboCAM’s high-end 3 CCD digital camera and powerful lens have a bird’s eye view of the procedure taking place below.

Two 360° rotation movements, one linear, and one tilt movement (3rd rotary motion) make up RoboCAM’s four axis’ of motion. The high-end digital camera pans 360° and tilts up and down as it moves back and forth along a linear arm. The linear arm can be custom ordered in 24”, 36”, and 48” lengths. The pan tilt camera and linear arm also rotate over 360° with the ability to adjust and/or limit the range of motion within the 360° of RoboCAM’s total rotation.

Media Server;

Audio and video recording capabilities are built into the media server’s functionality. The system is extremely powerful and allows for data capture, recording on DVD and mini DV, hard drive data storage, data compression, and distribution of content.

Audio;

The System Audio Interface consists of a wireless microphone headset and transmitter to allow audio signal from the instructor/surgeon to be transmitted to a transmitter/receiver. A two-way transmitter/receiver allows two-way communicate between the instructor/surgeon and students/audience to provide the instructor/surgeon a means to describe the procedure or to answer any questions. The receiver has output capabilities that send audio signals to the media server to overlay sound onto the recording data. Audio and video recording capabilities are built into the media server.

The audio function is not included with the media server system but is sold as an add-on system.

Although the goal is to sell an entire package and professional services to customers which would include RoboCAM, the media server, Audio interface, content management services, post production editing of recorded material, Web distribution of the content, content security, system engineering and storage to name but a few, each component and service can be purchased separately.
